Sprunki Castle is a fan-made interactive mod within the Sprunki / Incredibox ecosystem, hosted primarily on the Castle.xyz platform. It repurposes the original Sprunki character roster — created by NyankoBfLol — into a physics-driven virtual pet and ragdoll sandbox, shifting the experience away from rhythm-based music mixing toward tactile character interaction and narrative-driven gameplay. The mod gained traction through the "Adopt" trend that swept the Sprunki community, where players take on caretaker roles for individual characters. Castle.xyz decks are touch-optimized and browser-based, requiring no downloads.
Core Loop — The "Adopt" Mechanic
Select a Character: Choose from available Sprunki avatars (Brud, Simon, Wenda, Garnold, etc.) as your companion. Each character arrives in a distressed state — shivering in a box, wandering a pixelated street — and your objective is to stabilize them.
Feeding System: Each character has a unique diet. Brud, for example, responds best to Moss (his canonical comfort food), while others may prefer burgers or pizza. Feeding triggers distinct "Joy" animations and raises the happiness meter.
Bucket Physics (Brud-specific): The brown bucket on Brud's head is his security blanket. Petting it produces a metallic clunk he enjoys. Removing it triggers a "Panic Mode" or reveals the horror spike underneath, instantly shifting the game's tone.
Threat Management: Certain versions introduce Simon as a recurring threat. He may appear in windows or backgrounds — players must close blinds or shoo him away before he reaches Brud, referencing their dark shared history in the main Sprunki timeline.
Hidden Endings: Maintaining high happiness and low hunger for 5 minutes unlocks the "Happy Home" ending. Persistently attempting to remove Brud's bucket triggers the "Spike Reveal" — a horror cutscene before the game resets. Placing a Garnold plushie in the room unlocks a secret dialogue about Brud's best friend.
Castle.xyz-Specific Features
Ragdoll Physics: Characters can be picked up, tossed, and manipulated with full physics simulation. The floppy, exaggerated movement is a core part of the appeal.
Custom Outfits: Popular decks allow players to paint Brud's bucket or swap it for traffic cones, top hats, and other accessories.
Daily Feast Challenges: Completing these unlocks unique dining attire (e.g., royal chef hat for Simon, messy bib for Wenda) that affects how food particles interact with characters visually.
Unlike the core Sprunki mod, Castle does not center on beat-making. However, sound design remains integral:
ASMR-Style Audio: Every interaction generates high-quality eating sounds — crunches, slurps, chewing — with a dynamic audio engine that adjusts pitch and volume based on food item size.
Character Voice Lines: Each Sprunki retains their canonical sound identity. Brud communicates in low-pitched "Bruh" grunts and rhythmic beatboxing when happy. Simon produces 8-bit synthesizer tones. These play contextually during interactions.
Ambient Score: The castle setting features a medieval banquet hall atmosphere with subtle background music that shifts tone depending on whether the "safe" or "horror" state is active.
Horror Audio Shift: When the game enters a horror-adjacent state (e.g., bucket removal, Simon intrusion), all audio transitions to darker, distorted variants of the characters' original sound loops — directly inherited from the Sprunki Horror Mode soundbank.
All characters originate from the Sprunki / Incredibox mod by NyankoBfLol. Their Castle appearances adapt their canonical designs and lore into interactive contexts.
Brud (Brown) — The poster character of Castle. Wears a metal bucket hat concealing a head spike. Canonically "unintelligent but pure-hearted," communicates in broken sentences and happy grunts. One normal eye, one googly eye that spins independently. In Horror Mode, half his skull is missing (bitten off by Simon), ribs exposed, blood dripping — yet he retains his vacant smile. His bucket is the central gameplay object in Castle.
Simon (Yellow) — Two antennae, head spikes, calm expression in normal mode. In Horror Mode, eyes narrow to slits, mouth gapes open with hyper-realistic teeth extending down his torso. He is the primary antagonist within Castle's threat system, periodically appearing as an intruder. His canonical act — biting Brud's head — is referenced as a recurring trauma mechanic.
Wenda (White) — White cat-like figure with long pointed ears and tufts of fur on both cheeks. Sunken pupils and eyelashes. In Horror Mode, she appears alive but psychologically fractured. In Castle, she is classified as a "high-maintenance" adoptable — demanding more attention than Brud.
Garnold (Gold) — Yellow skin, yellow faceplate with a cyan sliding equalizer bar that moves in sync with his sound. In Horror Mode, the faceplate shatters, exposing his left eye with blood trailing down. Neck bleeding, teeth bared. In Castle, he functions as Brud's "best friend" — placing his plushie in Brud's room triggers a secret interaction.
Gray — Light gray skin, cat-like ears darker than his body, bored expression, six black freckles across his cheeks. In Horror Mode, ears droop and eyes widen in constant alertness. He is a confirmed survivor in the main Sprunki lore. In Castle, he appears as a secondary adoptable with minimal maintenance needs.
Oren (Orange) — DJ-style character with headphones and two cylindrical antennae. Confident expression. In Horror Mode, his chest cavity is split open with his heart exposed and beating — the heartbeat becomes his rhythm source. He is canonically paired with Pinki as the series' official couple.
Pinki (Pink) — Pink rabbit with a deep pink bow and eyelids. In Horror Mode, her face is torn apart, teeth reduced to a few hanging fragments. Despite this, she remains a survivor in the main timeline.
Raddy (Red) — Red skin, five dark red horns, perpetually furrowed brows. The most violently depicted death in Horror Mode: face torn off, lower body severed, hung by a noose with organs exposed. Clicking his remove button causes his body to rise on the hanging rope — the only character with this behavior. His design references Fuse from Oddbods.
Mr. Fun Computer — A desktop computer on a brown desk wearing a colorful propeller hat. Screen displays flashing musical notes, smiley faces, and "FUN" text during playback. In Horror Mode, the hat vanishes and a photorealistic face appears on screen, flashing a single eerie eye. He is one of the few characters confirmed fully intact in the main lore.
Black (The Black Hat) — The 20th and final character in the original Sprunki roster. A pitch-black figure wearing a top hat and white tie, no visible mouth. He is the catalyst for Horror Mode — placing him triggers the tonal shift across all characters. In Castle, his presence functions as a tonal toggle between the safe "Adopt" experience and the horror-adjacent state.
